I am deeply passionate about the advancement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in all areas of life through education

I have over twenty years’ experience across a variety of roles that provide services to advance Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in education and employment including mentoring, training, and encouraging the advancement of skills and education.

My previous role with Western Sydney University, as Project Officer with the Office of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment and Engagement seen me responsible for the development, implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement of programs to build and support the advancement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment and higher education. The projects and programs I was involved in include the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Business/Technical Traineeships, Early Career Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Academics, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Workplace Relations program which form an integral element in relation to the implementation of the departments Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment and Engagement Action Plan.

Previous to this role, I worked as a Project Support Officer with Inspire Community, a community services organization in the Liverpool area of Sydney, where I assisted clients with programs including Disabilities, Work for the Dole and Breaking the Cycle. I have also worked as a Case Worker with the Department of Community Services Ageing and Disabilities providing at home case management for clients with disabilities with the aim to provide better and more integrated services in health and education.

My qualifications include a Certificate IV in Community Services Mental Health, Diploma in Community Services, Certificate III in Business Administration, Level 4 – Positive Parenting Program (PPP), Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mental Health First Aider, Bachelor of Community and Social Development and currently my Master in Project Management.

I am a direct decedent from the Garigal clan from the Guringai people, my mob spread from Sydney Harbour, Lane Cove, and Broken Bay and up to Brisbane Waters and Tuggerah on the Central Coast.
